3rd December
2007 is a day extremely important to the Bihar School Examination Board. After conducting the process of examination the year round, the Board, on this day honours the brilliant students who score the best marks in the tenth board examinations.
The Board has chosen this very day to felicitate the students because the name of a great leader, one with exceptional academic talent too, is associated with it, He is none other than the first president of the Indian Republic, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. We have heard numerous tales of has genius, his industriousness, of how one day he became “ an examinee better than the examiner” .So what better occasion to honour academic brilliance than the day on which the epitome of brilliance was born, the birthday of Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
For the last few years, it has been the custom in the Board to invite eminent scholars to a lecture series to mark the occasion and commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. To deliver the Annual Dr. Rajendra Prasad Memorial Lecture, last year
Dr. K.Kasturirangan space scientist and member of Rajya Sabha was invited. This year
Dr. Gunakar Mule the famous science author
consented to deliver this lecture.
Dr. Gunakar Mule
is authoring books and articles on Science, Technology, History
of Science,Archeology, Indian Hostory & Civilization etc.
since 1960, mainly in Hindi. He has authored about 30
fundamental books and about 2500 articles in Hindi and about 15
articles in English. Since Last 15 years he is Member of Board
of Editors in various schemes of manufacturing of Books for
NCERT. Heis Advisory Memebr of Nehru Children Library.He has
been Honored by Science Council, Allahabad in 1986 for his long
term achievement in Science Authoring.He has also been honored
in 1988 by Sanskriti Sangam, New Delhi for is important work in
Popular science. He has received the "Atmaram Puraskar"
of Central Hindi Institute, Agra in 1989.
Hon’ble Minister for Human Resource Department (HRD) Sri Brishan
Patel has inaugrated the event by lighting the candle and
addressed the function. Later the Hon’ble Minister gave away prizes to the
21 toppers of the Board Examinations and the best performing school of every district. Top
twelve districts that conducted the examination efficiently and fairly were also awarded on the occasion. The district magistrates or their representatives received the award.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Hon’ble Minister for HRD Mr. Brishen Patel,
Dr. Gunakar Mule addressed the audience. All the guests to the programme were welcomed by the Secretary of the Board,
Sri Anup Kumar Sinha. The event was marked by the presence of
Sri Raghuvansh Prasad Director (Academic), Sri Manoj Kumar Verma
Dy. Secretary and Others.
